Conducted by an educator with special education credentials and a teaching assistant, the project was established for students who are learning disabled.
It meets for two hours, once a week, in three month intervals. Each group of students write and illustrate a filmstrip through which they demonstrate their awareness of the various customs and ceremonies related to a Jew's celebration of life. The media focus helps students enhance their social skills as well as those related to communication. Whenever appropriate, learners are encouraged to relate their studies to "true life" episodes.
