The Green Team formed after our rabbi challenged us to become active in living out one of the basic tenants of our faith – L’taken et Ha Olam: Repairing the World. He reminded us that as Jews and as God’s partners, we are obligated to repair our world.
To emphasize this, the Green Team has undertaken a number of initiatives and partnered with other groups within the synagogue to raise environmental awareness, share ideas and promote participation and responsibility at every age level. Since its inception, the group has worked to lead and motivate our community to make positive changes within the synagogue and our homes in order to protect and heal our water, air and land.
We have endeavored to teach our community not just what we can do as stewards of the earth, but on why we need to do it, both as Jews and as citizens of the world.
