ISRAEL COMES TO TBT--THE RAMAT-GAN DANCE TROUPE         (Summary: 2217)
BLOOMBERG, SANDI

Ten Days to Experience, a Lifetime to Remember!  This was the prevailing feeling of the whole congregation of Temple Beth Torah in Melville, NY when the Ramat-Gan Dance Troupe from Israel spent ten days in residence at our Temple for the second time in three years. The dance troupe is made up of twenty four young dancers, boys and girls, ages 18-26.  They represent the municipality of Ramat-Gan, and tour all over the world as good-will ambassadors representing Israel in a most positive and up-lifting way. Their energetic folk dances, colorful costumes, and sheer enthusiasm thrilled the 800 families in our congregation.  But their performances were not the only outstanding features of this dynamic company. They were housed two to a Temple family. They became part of the family, interacting with them and their children.  They gave classes, performances, and workshops for their ten-day stay at the temple and other places on Long Island. It was truly a full congregational event that was enjoyed by all, and hailed as "the event of the year!"

RESOURCES: A complete summary of their experience, their itinerary and a flyer. The Ramat-Gan Web site is: http://www.israeldance.com.
