In order to increase attendance at our Tikkun Leil Shavuot we designed a program which pooled the resources of our congregation and the Conservative congregation in our town. The evening began with showing a "Jewish" movie, we chose Hester Street, and after the movie there were two tracks of programming from 8-11pm. Between each 50 minute session we served dairy refreshments, such as burekas, blintzes and cheesecake. Some sessions were led by the rabbis and others by congregants. This program was very successful and will lead to more joint programming in the future. It was a great way to have both congregations participate together, get to know each other and pool our resources.
RESOURCES: Program. The service booklet must be opened in Davka to access the Hebrew component. If your congregation has access to Davka, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy of the service.
