We created an elaborate “trip” complete with airplane ride and passport control to expose the religious school children to various aspects of Israeli life. The children were on a staggered schedule to assist in crowd control with the younger grades “taking off” first. Each child received a passport that was stamped with each of the stops on the tour. These included age appropriate activities at each of the following sites: Jerusalem—the Western Wall, the Baha’i Gardens, the Qumran Caves—Dead Sea Scrolls, Eilat—Fishing for Facts, Postcards from Israel—Sing-a-long; Ben Jehuda Street where sample food was provided.
