As part of our yearly congregational day of learning, we put together a program that incorporates parents and children of multiple ages. For weeks, we announce the upcoming meeting of the Junior Jewish Detectives Agency. When the day arrives, the families are welcomed to the meeting, at which Rabbi Chaim Sandiego is set to speak. But, when Rabbi Sandiego calls from his cell phone to say he is lost in Israel, the detectives have to solve clues to find Rabbi Sandiego. In each classroom, there is an Israel-based activity. When completed, the children receive a clue that brings them to the next activity. After completing all activities, they are directed to the social hall, where they "find" Rabbi Sandiego.
